H. R. Goodale (Northern) Ltd were established in 1979 as a small independent carrier, offering a quality service at competitive rates and specialising in overnight deliveries to London, predominantly for the textile industry.

Over the years the company has developed and diversified in order to accommodate ever changing customer requirements and now operates a nationwide service for pallet delivery, parcel delivery, white goods, general traffic, fragile, time sensitive, speciality and non standard pallet system goods. To this very day we still operate as an independent carrier and are not part of a hub system.

All sizes of vehicles are available ranging from the small courier type for urgent (often express/same day) consignments, to tail lift and articulated vehicles for larger scale freight. With our diverse availability of vehicles we are confident we can cope with our clients demands at short notice. All vehicles are equipped with mobile phones and satellite navigation for a speedy response and information to satisfy customer requirements.

Our daily night trunk operation to and from London and the Home Counties is serviced by our depot located in the South East, whilst the remainder of our deliveries are made direct from Halifax to the delivery point or in conjunction with our associate independent depot network. We feel that this avoids the potential for loss or damage that often occurs through the use of hub or indirect distribution systems.

To strengthen our belief that our customers goods should be handled with the greatest care and delivered efficiently, the large majority of our operations are carried out by owner drivers, employed solely by ourselves. Over the years we have found this to be very successful and of mutual benefit to all parties due to the pride and diligence taken in meeting our customer requirements by both our drivers and staff.

One key aspect of H. R. Goodale’s diversification has seen the development of our Nationwide white goods distribution service to both major retail outlets and thousands of Home Deliveries to domestic premises on a daily basis. More recently we have also started managing client stock internally and distribution via daily internet orders.
